COME AND SEE US
Nancy and Kelly offer services to a wide range of ages, ethnicities and animals at their Owairaka Home Clinic and St Luke’s Clinic in Mt Albert Auckland.
They provide ConTact C.A.R.E sessions for babies, children, teenagers, adults, senior citizens and animals. We also work with high performance athletes with their injuries and prevention and anyone whose body is inhibiting them from participating in actions they enjoy.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
You can expect a gentle and non-intrusive session. Your comfort at all times is paramount and your practitioner will always ensure you are comfortable and pain-free. Consultations are fully clothed and we also encourage you to wear loose clothing for comfort.
Sessions can last 30-90 minutes with a return visit according to your needs. Longer sessions for acute clients and shorter sessions for maintenance.
How many treatments you need depends on the individual and their severity of the injury, illness or trauma. Often one treatment can create major change but sometimes between 3 - 4 treatments are necessary for everything to fully integrate.
There is no forcing or manipulation during the treatment, only support and pressure were it is necessary. The technique is safe and effective providing a non-intrusive experience.
ANIMAL SESSIONS
We work with animals at the Owairaka Clinic.
Time is taken to assess your animal and allowing it to find a comfortable place for working and beginning the session.
There is often a strong bond between the animal and client and this is honoured by often working with both with the owner and the dog for a complete session.
HAVE YOU HAD AN ACCIDENT?
Even and old impact from our youth can start to affect us as we age. In the session the support you are given helps to complete an action or a movement pathway that has been stopped by an impacts / surgery / illness. If you reflect back you can often remember moments that stick in your memory, events that you have moved away from but gradually over time sneak back up on you - an old sporting injury or a fall from a bike etc when you were young or perhaps dealing with a death. Over time the strategy that you used to cope with the impact starts to wear down. If another blow occurs the body runs out of options and pain, disease or other health conditions may begin to occur.
Anyone of any age can enjoy the benefits of being supported to gain movement and less pain in their body.
A TREATMENT JUST FOR YOU
Each treatment is different to match each persons life experience. Often there is a release of pain and a sense of comfort during the treatment as the pressure and shock leaves the body. It is common for people to talk of feeling ‘lighter’ and ‘clearer’ after a session. In some cases after the first treatment symptoms can completely disappear. The next 2 - 3 days after a session the client may feel some aches and pains as the body readjusts to its new position and shape. The client may also be given homework on how to optimise the effects of the treatment.
For impacts that involve emotional and mental shock you may experience a release connected to those experiences.
FEELING THE EFFECTS
You can make an appointment for yourself, a family member, your child or your partner. Often pains and aches accumulate and as one person starts to feel better after a session they naturally seek that for those around them - be it friends or family members.
We believe we affect each other and our functional supportive relationships are essential to wellbeing.
We endeavour to apply common sense principles to your issue to provide simple, safe and effective ways to solve problems.
If we feel your symptoms, pain or injuries are something we cannot help you with, we will endeavour to recommend an appropriate health practitioner who may be able to help you with your issues.
